How Much Does a Deep Clean Cost in Ireland? (2026 Prices)

Published 29 October 2026 · 4 min read

Short answer

Advertised deep clean prices we checked in October 2026 started at €120 to €240 for a one-bed and €250 to €320 for a three-bed, with €450 listed for five bedrooms. Final quotes depend on condition and extras.

A deep clean in Ireland typically costs from about €120 to €240 for a one-bed and €250 to €320 for a three-bed, based on advertised prices we checked in October 2026. Those are starting prices: your final quote depends on the condition of the home and which extras you add.

There is no official price list for cleaning, so the figures below come from two Irish companies' published price pages. They show the range you are likely to see, and why it is so wide.

If you think in hourly terms, a deep clean is simply a long session. Regular cleaning was advertised at €16 to €22 an hour outside Dublin and €21 to €28 in Dublin in October 2026, and some cleaners will quote a deep clean as a block of hours at their usual rate rather than a fixed price.

Why is my quote higher than the website price?

People often ask this in Irish forums, and there are usually straightforward reasons:

  • "From" means the minimum. The headline price assumes a home in reasonable condition with standard fittings. Most real homes need a bit more.
  • Condition. A house that has not been cleaned properly for a long time, after an illness, a new baby or a busy year, takes longer. That is not a judgement, just time.
  • Bathrooms and extras. A three-bed with three bathrooms is a bigger job than a three-bed with one.
  • Limescale. In hard water areas, showers, taps and glass screens take much longer to bring back. Uisce Éireann's water hardness checker tells you what your supply is like.
  • Add-ons. Ovens, carpets, upholstery, inside the fridge and windows are often priced separately.
  • VAT and travel. A VAT-registered business charges the reduced rate, currently 13.5%, on cleaning private homes. Some companies also add a travel or transport charge.

The fix is to describe the job fully up front, ideally with photos. Our cleaning brief builder helps you write a clear description to send to several cleaners, so every quote is based on the same information.

Some people find it cheaper to book the general deep clean from one business and a specialist for the oven or carpets. Others prefer a single booking to avoid coordinating two visits. See our guides to oven cleaning, carpet cleaning and window cleaning.

What should a deep clean include?

A deep clean goes beyond the surfaces a regular visit covers. Expect it to include most of these, but confirm in writing:

  • Inside kitchen presses and drawers, wiped out and dried
  • Behind and under moveable appliances
  • Extractor hood and filter, splashbacks and tiles degreased
  • Showers, taps, tiles and grout descaled
  • Skirting boards, doors, frames, handles and light switches
  • Radiators and the tops of wardrobes and units
  • Inside windows, sills and tracks
  • Light fittings and lampshades dusted
  • Floors hoovered and mopped, including under furniture that can be moved

Deep clean, end of tenancy or after builders?

These are priced differently because they are different jobs:

TypeWhenMain difference
Deep cleanA lived-in home, once or twice a year or before a regular cleaner startsWorks around furniture and belongings
End of tenancyAn empty rental at move-out or move-inAimed at an inspection, usually includes inside every press and appliance
After buildersAfter renovation workFine dust, paint spots and plaster, often needs more passes

If you are moving out of a rental, compare end of tenancy cleaning prices instead. After building work, read our after builders cleaning guide.

How to get a fair deep clean quote

  1. Describe the home. Bedrooms, bathrooms, floor types, and anything unusual like a conservatory or a lot of glass.
  2. Be upfront about condition. A realistic description now prevents a price change on the day.
  3. List the extras. Oven, carpets, fridge, windows, blinds.
  4. Ask what is excluded. Every company has a list, so ask for it.
  5. Ask about time and team size. Two cleaners for five hours is a very different job from one cleaner for four.
  6. Agree what happens if something is missed. Under consumer law, a service must be carried out with reasonable care and skill, and you should normally give the business a chance to fix shortcomings.

A deep clean is often the best first step before starting a regular cleaner, because it brings everything to a level that two or three hours a week can maintain. Find deep cleaning companies near you, for example in Dublin, Cork or Limerick, or see the full price guide.

Questions people ask

How often should I get a deep clean?

There is no official rule. It depends on how well the home is kept in between: a home with a weekly or fortnightly cleaner needs a lighter and less frequent deep clean than one that has gone months without.

Is the oven included in a deep clean?

Often not. Oven cleaning is usually priced separately, and advertised prices we checked in October 2026 were €55 to €80 for a single oven and €65 to €100 for a double.

Is a deep clean the same as an end of tenancy clean?

They overlap, but an end of tenancy clean is aimed at an empty property and an inspection, while a deep clean works around your furniture and belongings. Prices and checklists differ, so say which one you need.

Do deep cleaning prices include VAT?

Ask. VAT-registered businesses charge the reduced rate, currently 13.5%, on cleaning private homes, and some price lists show figures before VAT.
